Pakistan wants to take forward Afghan peace process with help of new US administration: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan is desirous of establishing close friendly relations with new US President Joe Biden and his administration.

Addressing different ceremonies in Multan today (Saturday), he said Pakistan wants to take forward Afghan peace process with the help of newly elected US administration.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has really worked hard to bring peace in Afghanistan and urged the US administration to continue efforts for bringing peace in the region.

About Coronavirus situation, the Foreign Minister said China has promised to provide half million doses of Covid-19 vaccine as a gift by the end of this month.

He said that we have requested to China to give 1.1 million doses as per our requirement and Beijing has assured us for provision of required doses by the end of next month.

He said the entire world is praising Prime Minister Imran Khan for his policies to contain spread of Coronavirus disease in the country and to keep economy at its track.

Commenting on internal political situation, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the opposition alliance is the unnatural alliance which has no destination.

He said that the opposition alliance wants to protect looted wealth of the nation and end of the ongoing corruption cases.

He said a strict and across the board accountability will be made of those who looted and plundered the national exchequer.
