Pakistan has called upon the global community to ‘do more’ on the global climate action to protect the world community from unfolding deleterious impacts of climate change.

Addressing the US-initiated Leaders’ Summit, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Amin Aslam said the world needs to get off the warpath with nature, which would only exacerbate disasters.

Malik Amin Aslam highlighted that Pakistan is striving to be a part of the solution, through nature based initiatives, and is committed to not add to the problem of climate change.

The Summit on Climate vowed to deepen climate goals by cutting greenhouse gas emissions 50-52 percent by 2030.

They also set a target to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels; a threshold which scientists say can prevent the worst impacts of climate change.
