Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the reduction in poverty and uplift in the poor's living standard would be the yardstick to gauge the success of his government after its five-year term.

Speaking at a signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between banks and Ministry of Maritime Affairs in Islamabad, he said after five years, my success will be as to how many people have been steered out of poverty.

Under the MoU, banks will provide easy loans to the fishermen to enable them purchase the latest equipment like boats, onshore freezers and other equipment for value addition in their business.

The Prime Minister said the government is also focusing on the cultivation of avocado and saffron to enhance exports.
