Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said public welfare is the main focus of the PTI government because the public service brings  real democratic change in society.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore alongside Executive Director Akhuwat Foundation Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, she said that PTI government has taken several steps including the Ehsas programme and shelter homes to rehabilitate the poor people.

She said PTI is following the mission of Riyasat-e-Madina to develop a true welfare state.

The Special Assistant said Akhuwat is playing a pivotal role in empowering women and providing employment opportunities to the youth and above all ensuring a poverty-free society.

She said Akhuwat in collaboration with the Punjab government has provided 86 billion rupees loans to the needy and government has also decided to financially support the needy students who want to study further together with Akhuwat.

The SACM said Prime Minister Imran Khan has given grant of 5 billion rupees to Akhuwat for the construction of subsidized houses while Akhuwat has provided financial support to 86000 needy persons for the construction of houses that is the real change at the grassroots.
