World Book and Copyright Day was observed today (Friday) to promote book reading and recognizing the scope of books as a bridge between generations and across cultures.

The day is celebrated under the auspices of UN  Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to pay tribute to the great literary figures of the world.
