Renowned Pakistani folk and stage singer Tariq Tafu passed away in Lahore last night after a brief illness.
He was son of renowned musician and Tabla-nawaz Altaf Hussain Tafu.
He was widely known for his distinctive voice and contributions to Punjabi folk music.
Tariq Tafu remained associated with the music industry for several decades and earned popularity through several hit songs, including the famous “Lahore Lahore Aey.”
Following the news of his death, artists, political and social figures, and fans expressed deep sorrow and paid tribute to his services to Pakistani music.
After funeral prayer, Tariq Tafu was laid to rest at Shahenshah graveyard in Lahore this afternoon. A number of renowned show biz personalities including singer and musican Sahir Ali Bagga, singer Waris Baig, folk singer Abbas Ashiq Jatt, folk and pop singer Malku, qawwal Ustad Nadeem Bakshi Salamat, Singer Tanveer Afridi amongst others attended the funeral prayer.
