Australia will build a 20-kilogram, semi-autonomous lunar rover for NASA to take to the moon as early as 2026 in order to help the agency extract oxygen from lunar soil samples.

The rover will be used to collect lunar soil which contains oxygen in the form of chemical compounds with elements like iron and silicon.
