APHC denounces Indian crackdown on Hurriyat leaders in Kashmir

Indian forces have deployed huge forces backed by commandos, drones and sniffer dogs during cordon and search operation in Kathua district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation continued on second day today, in several areas including the dense jungles of Kathua district.

Meanwhile, two Special Task Force personnel were injured as Maoists triggered an improvised explosive device to blow up a vehicle. The forces were travelling in Bijapur district of violence hit Chhattisgarh state.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the stepped-up crackdown on Hurriyat leaders and activists across occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesman said that New Delhi cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ sentiments for freedom through harassment and intimidation.
