Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Muhammad Tahir Hassan has said that Radio Pakistan is ready to join hands with "Cholistan Development Council, Bahawalpur" to highlight the ancient and historic culture of Cholistan under the brand name "Rohi".
He was addressing a ceremony the Chief Guest held in connection with launch of a book "Rafaaqton Ka Safar" written by renowned writer of south Punjab, Farooq Ahmad Khan in Islamabad.
Vice Chancellor National Skills University Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar presided over the ceremony, while Sohail Habib Tajik, DG Police Academy Islamabad was the Guest of Honour.
The Director General PBC said the studios of Radio Pakistan have been revamped with installation of latest equipment and gadgets while new channels have also been launched to increase the outreach of the national broadcaster.
He said Radio Pakistan will encourage the artist community of Multan and Bahawalpur to portray diversity of culture and colours of Cholistan Desert.
The DG PBC also congratulated the author for collecting his memories with legends and prominent personalities particularly belonging to Bahawalpur in his book.
Vice Chancellor National Skills University, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, DG Police Academy Islamabad Sohail Habib Tajik, Director Programmes PBC Manzoor Qadir, Imran Javed Head of PBC English Channel Planet-87.6 and author of the book Farooq Ahmad Khan also spoke on the occasion.
Souvenirs and commemorative shields were distributed by the distinguished guests among prominent personalities and writer of the book, while a documentary pertaining to "Cholistan Award" was also screened.
