
United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, Mohamed Yahya, paid a farewell call on National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, the Speaker appreciated his services for promoting cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations.
He said Pakistan-UN cooperation is based on mutual trust, partnership and shared objectives and the United Nations' support for Pakistan's development is highly valuable.
He expressed the hope that this cooperation would continue to grow and strengthen.
Highlighting the importance of women's empowerment, the Speaker National Assembly said the Women's Parliamentary Caucus and Gender Mainstreaming Committee are promoting an enabling environment for women, strengthening their role, and ensuring greater attention to their issues.
On the occasion, Mohamed Yahya said he will always cherish the respect, cooperation and warmth received during his stay in Pakistan.
