Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani says the newly launched Retailer Scheme is an opportunity for traders to participate, fulfil their national duties and strengthen the economy.

He was addressing a follow-up meeting on the Small Shopkeepers Scheme (Retailer Scheme) at the FBR Headquarters in Islamabad today.

Highlighting the scheme's core feature, the Minister said it will be the simplest in the country's history with simple registration procedures, flexible payment options and a tailored operational framework to ease compliance for small retailers.

On the occasion, FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial said small shopkeepers can register and show legal liability by paying just a one percent turnover tax.

He assured traders of maximum facilitation, stating that registered green plates would serve as a safeguard against unnecessary tax collector scrutiny. He, however, warned that uncooperative traders would face strict legal action.
