Prime Minister in his address at UNGA effectively presented Pakistan's narrative: Analysts
September 24, 2022

Najam-ud-Din Sheikh (Former Ambassador):

Pakistan has consistently been saying that all the outstanding issues need to be resolved through dialogue. But unfortunately, the present Indian government on 5th August, 2019 unilaterally abrogated Article 370 and 35-A which is against the international norms and UN resolutions as well. The Indian government is now settling the non-Kashmiris in the occupied valley to change its demography. The world needs to understand that without a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute there can be no sustainable peace and stability in the region. It is the need of the hour that the Kashmir issue must be resolved as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people and in accordance with UN resolutions according to which Kashmiris must be given the right to self-determination.

Salma Malik (IR Expert):

India is always trying to malign Pakistan in order to defame it across the globe but the world is now well aware of Indian tactics. The international media has also started exposing Indian policies and atrocities in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. India is a big trade market and the international community has its own national interests with India so hesitant to force Indians to stop committing human right violations in the occupied valley. The Indian face has been exposed as the Kashmir issue has been internationalized. Many civilized countries are condemning the Indian policies as far as the Kashmir issue is concerned

Dr. Shaheen Akhtar (IR Expert):

The Prime Minister in his address at the UN session effectively presented the narrative of Pakistan on certain issues, including the climate change and Kashmir dispute. The Prime Minister briefed the world about the effects of climate change in Pakistan as the climate crisis is linked with the economy of Pakistan. The devastation caused by recent floods in the country will definitely have negative impacts on the economy of Pakistan. Moreover, the Prime Minister also urged the world to fulfill its commitments and ensure the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions and give the Kashmiris their right of plebiscite. Both India and Pakistan need to discuss bilateral issues through dialogue. It is a fact that without resolving the Kashmir issue, regional peace and stability is not possible.

Ali Sarwar Naqvi (Former Ambassador): India is violating international norms and even UN resolutions and committing worst genocide in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and terms the freedom struggle of Kashmiris to get their right to self-determination as terrorism. But the fact is that the world capitals are holding India responsible for human rights violations in the Kashmir valley. The international media is also exposing the cruel Indian face to the world. India is also involved in promoting terrorism in Pakistan and the Indian agent Kulbhushan Yadhav himself admitted it. Indian 15-years information warfare to malign and isolate Pakistan has been debunked by the EU DisInfoLab.
