Analysts hail government’s prudent measures to take the economy forward
January 25, 2022

Ali Muhammad Khan (Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs): Pakistan has enormous natural resources and advantages by virtue of its geo-strategic location that can help in boosting economic growth. Economic growth begins with a fundamental policy prism which cannot be devised without having primary data for domestic needs. For that purpose, the census is indispensable as it will help the government in reaching up to the underprivileged sectors of society. No government can devise a plausible public policy without primary data about the population needs and available resources in the country. The long term projects will be then initiated that will have a bourgeoning impact on the economy. All the four economic sectors of Pakistan are embracing economic boom with an unprecedented rise in the exports. The current account deficit left by the previous governments has overburdened the economy and the common man is unable to get benefits directly from the economic growth. The trickle-down might be delayed but will certainly come with an increase in the job opportunities and purchasing power of the public.

Hamayun Iqbal Shami (Chairman Pakistan Economic Forum):  Pakistan has a vast territory with a gradually increasing population rate. These factors have made census an imperative for the smooth functioning of the governmental proceedings. The human resources and the population of the country have remained undocumented for long. The lack of availability of accurate data halts the optimal allocation of the resources which leads to food insecurity and uneven development. The incumbent government is determined to curb the issue of allocation of resources by every means. The efficacious allocation of resources will not only ensure human security but will also make the environment conducive for business. The general public should adhere to the SOPs as the pandemic is not over yet, otherwise the industrial sector will again have to face supply chain distortions.

Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Ejaz Awan (Defense Analyst):  The decision of the general public of Kashmir to celebrate India's Republic Day as Black Day is well justified. The fascist government of India is outrightly defying the UN resolutions on Kashmir dispute. Moreover, the general public that does not even come under their jurisdiction is being treated inhumanely. The charter of Human Rights and International Law is being shattered by India and the international community is playing the role of a silent spectator. The use of pallet guns, rape of minors and Muslim women, and extrajudicial killing of innocent Kashmiris unveils India's reign of terror in IIOJ&K. India has already lost Kashmir as the masses are revolting against them for long. The ethnic cleansing of Kashmiris and stopping them from their fundamental right of self-determination will never yield triumph for India. It is the rightful duty of international community to shun away the shackles of silence and look into the matter of Kashmir while keeping aside their economic interests with India.

Sardar Attique Ahmad Khan (Former PM AJK): India's massacre and atrocities in IIOJ&K has compelled the subjugated people of Kashmir to observe India's Republic Day as Black Day. The fascist BJP government in India is indulging in ethnic cleansing in IIOJ&K by using brute force and violence. The freedom movement cannot be suppressed by such inhumane measures, rather it is being strengthened. Minorities are not safe even in the mainland of India and in future more freedom movements will raise their heads. The purpose of observing Black Day is to unveil the India's state sponsored terrorism in the valley of IIOJ&K to the numb international community. The Secretary General of the UN has recently called for resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions which is cordially welcomed by the people of Kashmir. With constant diplomatic pressure in India, the fundamentalist government will be urged to pursue negotiations.
