President Asif Ali Zardari has assured the press of his continued support for maintaining the highest standards of journalism and an enabling environment for a free press.

In his message on National Newspapers Readership Day, he said in today’s changing media environment, newspaper readership is no longer confined to the printed page, as newspapers increasingly reach readers through digital platforms and other forms of online access.

He urged the youth of Pakistan to develop the habit of reading newspapers, whether in print or through digital platforms, while also equipping themselves with modern technological skills.

The President hoped that the All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) and Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) will continue to contribute to informed national discourse and greater public understanding of regional and global developments.
