At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for renewed efforts for economic revitalization and political stability in Syria.
Delivering a national statement during the UN Security Council's briefing on political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Pakistan's Permanent Representative-designate to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said political, economic, security, and humanitarian challenges facing Syria demand a holistic and coordinated response.
He said lifting of unilateral sanctions is imperative to facilitating reconstruction and aid efforts in Syria.
