In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities have imposed unprecedented restrictions across Srinagar and other districts.

According to Kashmir Media Service, joint police-paramilitary operations are visible on major roads with additional temporary and permanent checkpoints have been established at key locations in Srinagar.

Indian forces are conducting thorough frisking of private vehicles, public transport vehicles, two-wheelers and pedestrians.

Similar heightened activity has been reported from Ganderbal, Kulgam, Bandipora, Islamabad, Baramulla and Budgam. Indian agencies have placed the entire occupied territory on high alert.

Indian police also conducted extensive searches across Srinagar’s public transport network.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and international human rights bodies to take immediate notice of the deteriorating condition of Hurriyat leaders and thousands of Kashmiri detainees held in Indian prisons.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said detainees are being denied medical care, family visits and fair trial rights under draconian laws, calling it a violation of international law and the Geneva Conventions.
