The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has called for implementing the recommendations made in the reports of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights which propose formation of a commission of inquiry into the grave rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

A statement read out by Pakistan's Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Khalil Hashmi on behalf of the OIC in the occasion of 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council, said the OIC remains concerned about the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the OIC demands revocation of all illegal measures since 5th of August 2019, when India illegally annexed the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ambassador Khalil Hashmi said we remind the international community of its obligations to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir in fulfilment of the rights of the Kashmiri people.

The OIC statement also covered the long standing conflicts and disputes that include Palestine, Myanmar and Nagorno-Karabakh.
