February 27, 2025

A M Shahid (Former Ambassador): Pakistan and Uzbekistan are taking their bilateral relations towards a right direction cordially. Both sides are eager to further promote bilateral ties through trade and business cooperation. In this connection, Islamabad and Tashkent have identified trade, cultural exchanges as sole way to boost bilateral ties. Hopefully visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Uzbekistan will remain successful and result oriented in bringing both the countries closer to each other. I am sure that enhanced trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan will also strengthen economy in Pakistan in future. This is why both sides have signed trade agreements worth billions of dollars. Enhanced trade cooperation and connectivity with Central Asian Republics will provide Pakistan a foothill in Central Asia. We should appreciate efforts being made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team to promote Pakistan’s diplomatic and trade cooperation with the world and neighboring countries. Pakistan can find out a great market for its products in Central Asia, however road and rail link is vital for this purpose..
