North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast on Monday. 

The latest launch of North Korea was taken place during joint drills by the navies of the United States and South Korea in international waters off the southern island of Jeju.

In a statement, South Korean Navy spokesman Jang Do Young said that the drills were designed to improve the execution of US extended deterrence especially nuclear forces, to deter attacks on its allies.
