May 27, 2022

Minister of State for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik says government is committed to implement a comprehensive strategy to save the poor segment of society from the impact of increased petroleum prices.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said former Prime Minister Imran Khan took wrong decisions which brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy.

Musadik Malik urged Imran Khan to show any government to government agreement or MOU with Russia, which can prove that the PTI government was going to buy the petroleum products at lower prices.

Rejecting PTI leader Imran Khan's statement about lower petroleum prices in India, he said that the petroleum prices in neighboring country are much higher than Pakistan. He said the price of petrol in India is 250.17 Pakistani rupees per liter and Diesel is at 234.03 Pakistani rupees, which is far higher than Pakistan.

Dr Musadik Malik said PTI government was providing a direct subsidy of 120 billion rupees per month on petroleum products without the approval of ECC.
