70 new IT projects started at cost of Rs75bln: Amin

Federal Minister for IT Amin-ul-Haq has expressed determination to ensure the provision of best possible IT facilities to the youth as it is a tool to success in the new age.

Addressing a meeting in Karachi, the Minister said 70 new IT projects have been started at a cost of 75 billion rupees.

He said smart phones are being manufactured in the country and available at very reasonable prices.

IT Minister said, special measure are being taken to ensure internet availability in small cities and villages.

Meanwhile, addressing Startups Conference in Karachi, the Minister said an agreement has been signed with Google for 45,000 scholarships, which will increase to 450,000 next year.

He said forty percent scholarships have been allocated for women.

Amin ul Haque also mentioned that currently, eight National Incubation Centers are functional in the major cities of the country.
