Earthquake measuring 5.9 jolts various parts of Pakistan

An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted various parts of Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir this evening.

No loss of life or property has been reported from these areas so far.

Similarly, a moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit various parts of Balochistan this morning, while tremors were also felt in several other regions of the country later this evening.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, tremors were felt across Musakhel, Barkhan, Rakhni, and Kohlu.

Our Quetta correspondent reports that nineteen people sustained minor injuries, and one hundred and twenty houses were damaged in Kangri Tehsil, Musakhel district.

Following the tremors, the district administration immediately launched relief operations in the affected areas.

A free medical camp has been established to provide healthcare facilities to the injured. Tents, beds, solar lights, gas cylinders, mosquito nets, and other essential items are also being distributed among the affected families.
