President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, on his seventy-eighth martyrdom anniversary.  

In their separate statements today, they lauded his supreme sacrifice, courage and unwavering devotion to the motherland during the First Kashmir War in 1948. 

The President said that the martyrs, who laid down their lives for the defense of Pakistan, remain a precious national asset.

The Prime Minister said Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed made history by confronting the enemy with an exceptional sense of duty, courage, bravery and outstanding professional military strategy.
