Aurangzeb highlights govt's efforts to attract investment in country

Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Ghassan Ahmed Amodi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Group, Saudi Arabia, and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, in Islamabad today.

The meeting discussed Asyad Group's existing investments in Pakistan, plans for expansion and opportunities for new investments, particularly those arising from the government's ongoing privatization process.

It also reviewed Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited's expansion plans, including growth in its retail network, storage infrastructure and digitalization initiatives, as well as potential investments in the financial sector.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the growing interest of Saudi investors in Pakistan and highlighted the government's efforts to attract credible, long-term investment through economic reforms and an enabling business environment.

He underscored the importance of strengthening private-sector engagement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He also assured the delegation of the government's continued support and facilitation for investors.

Ghassan Ahmed Amodi reaffirmed Asyad Group's commitment to Pakistan as a long-term investment destination and expressed plans to further expand its presence in the country.

He briefed the Finance Minister on the Group's interest in participating in the upcoming airport privatization process and efforts to bring together Saudi and international partners with relevant expertise.

He also reaffirmed the group's commitment to strengthening economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
