Pakistan calls for stronger global efforts to protect children in conflicts
October 27, 2026

Pakistan has called for stronger international efforts to protect children affected by armed conflicts.

Speaking at a United Nations Security Council briefing marking the 30th anniversary of the mandate on Children and Armed Conflict, Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN Usman Jadoon, expressed Pakistan’s grave concern over the escalating violations against children worldwide.

The Ambassador drew attention to the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, where more than 12,000 grave violations against children, including killing and maiming, had been verified in a single year.

He underscored the enduring physical and psychological trauma suffered by Palestinian children, including those who have sustained life-altering injuries and amputations. He stressed that the protection of children must remain an urgent international priority, particularly in situations of armed conflict and foreign occupation.
