In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the BJP-led Indian government is pursuing a systematic policy to silence the illegally detained Hurriyat leadership through draconian laws, prolonged incarcerations, and politically motivated legal proceedings.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the Indian National Investigation Agency's move seeking life imprisonment for Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen, and Fehmeeda Sofi, along with the prolonged illegal detention of APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Bhat, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Dr. Hameed Fayaz, Adv. Mian Abdul Qayoom, and others, reflects a deliberate attempt to intimidate and provoke the Kashmiri people.
He said that Indian courts are functioning under the influence of the Hindutva-driven BJP regime and are being used to punish Kashmiris for demanding political rights and the UN-mandated right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, a massive cordon and search operation launched by the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the Special Operations Group entered its sixth consecutive day today in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the joint operation has been underway since Saturday in the Dorimal and Gambhir Mughlan areas of the Manjakote sector.
Indian forces are also using helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs in the so-called "Operation Sherwani." The operation has spread fear and panic among local residents.
The media has also been barred from accessing the area, preventing independent monitoring of the situation.
