The 28th death anniversary of Urdu poet, writer and broadcaster Hameed Naseem was observed today (Monday).

He was born on October 16, 1920 in District Dalhousie of Himachal Pradesh.

After the partition, he migrated to Pakistan and joined Radio Pakistan and elevated to the position of Deputy Director General of Radio Pakistan.

Hamid Naseem's poetry collections include 'Panch Jadeed Shair', 'Jast-e-Junoon' and 'Gard-e-Malal'.

His autobiography, titled 'Quest for the Impossible', was also published.

He died on this day in 1998 and buried in Karachi.
