Three traffic police constables were martyred and an officer was severely injured when unknown assailants opened fire on a traffic police vehicle in the Wazirabad area of Tank district today.

According to initial reports, the injured police officer was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the firing by Khawarij terrorists on the traffic police patrolling van in Tank.

In his statement, he expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of three traffic police personnel in the firing incident.

The Interior Minister also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

He, while paying rich tributes to the police personnel, reiterated the resolve that their unmatched sacrifices will not go waste.
