Legendary actor Yousuf Kamal popularly known as Shakeel passed away in a private hospital in Karachi today. He was 85.

He was the first chocolate hero of PTV during 70s. He also worked in Lollywood as a hero and villain. Aangan Tera was his best play written by Anwar Maqsood.

He performed in many TV plays, films captivated audiences and showcased his extraordinary talent. His most popular dramas were Angan Tera, Uncle Urfi and Ankahi.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the show business, he was honoured with the prestigious Pride of Performance award in 1992.

In a tweet, on his death, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has termed death of prominent actor Shakeel as a big loss for Pakistan's drama industry.

Prime Minister said since 70s, Shakeel's name has been associated with the golden era of the drama industry

He said the late rose to heights of fame due to his brilliant performances that hold precious memories for people of his age.

He prayed that Allah Al-Mighty may forgive him and grant high ranks in jannah and patience to his family.
