The first organized spell of monsoon rainfall is expected across Pakistan from Wednesday.

According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the first spell will bring a noticeable increase in rain, wind, and thunderstorm activity across the northern and northeastern parts of the country.

The rainfall is likely to occur intermittently, while isolated heavy downpours may trigger localized urban flooding and flash floods in vulnerable hilly catchments.
