Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded Chinese President Xi Jinping, Chinese companies and the people of China for extending all-out financial support for relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims in Pakistan.

He was talking to a delegation of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), who called on him in Islamabad headed by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong.

Speaking on the occasio,  Chairman CTG Wu Shengliang presented a cheque worth over 650,000 dollars to the Prime Minister for the flood relief fund.

He further informed the Prime Minister that under China Three Gorges, work on Karot Hydropower Project has been continuing at full capacity for the past three months.

The Prime Minister welcomed the initiative to complete the Karot Hydropower Project on a priority basis and fully operationalization the project, and to create environment-friendly and low-cost hydropower in Pakistan.

Karot Hydropower Project is a major hydropower project under the CPEC framework, generating 720 megawatts of environment-friendly and low-cost electricity.
