Analysts hail Pak mediatory role in ME conflict
October 29, 2026

Dr. Muhammad Khan (IR Expert):Peace and stability situation in the Middle East is very fragile; however, in a bid to bring peace to the region, Pakistan has adopted a strategy to bring both the US and Iran closer. Pakistan was a bridge between the US and Iran and hosted great dialogue between both the countries in the past. In result of Pakistan’s robust diplomacy both countries were close to sign peace deal but unfortunately things turned to the otherwise as attacks continued. However, now the things have changed as Pakistan has brought both Saudi Arabia and Iran closer. Iran is convinced that Makkah Alliance is future of the region and only this alliance can avert Middle East from becoming another battlefield. Thus Pakistan, especially, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, have played wonderful role  of mediator which is being acknowledged by the whole world. Pakistan’s stature in the world has gone higher due to mediation and peace efforts. But at the same time, Pakistan is worst target of Indian sponsored and Afghan facilitated terrorism which emanates from Afghan soil. In the background of external challenges, our political leaders must think a lot before issuing useless statement.

Amb. A M Shahid (Former Diplomat):Pakistan is playing a wonderful mediatory role between Iran and US. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir took all three members of Makkah Alliance to Tehran for talks. Whole world is appreciating Pakistan’s mediatory role in the Middle East conflict. Pakistan’s mediatory role has no example in the history.  Tehran meeting has sent strong message to the world and we saw its impacts in Israeli and US Midterm elections. Israeli and the US voters rejected Netanyahu and Trump’s policies towards the Middle East conflict. Now hopefully Pakistan’s mediatory role will bring fruits and there will be peace deal between the warring nations in Middle East.
