In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference Leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed grave concern over continued curbs on the religious rights of Kashmiri Muslims.

According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a gathering in Srinagar, Mirwaiz said India is attempting to erase their religious, cultural and historical identity.

He said that once again, Eid prayers were not allowed at the historic Jamia Masjid and Eidgah in Srinagar, describing the move as deeply painful.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the situation becomes even more painful when people are not allowed to raise their voices against such injustices and are instead forced into silence through restrictions, threats and arrests.

Criticizing the National Conference government in the territory, he said it is its fundamental responsibility to speak out against violations of religious rights.

Meanwhile, the massive cordon and search operation by occupation forces in the Dorimal and Gambhir Mughlan areas of Rajouri district continued for the eighth consecutive day today.

The operation has been further intensified with the deployment of para commandos, while helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs are being used in the rugged terrain.

Residents continue to face severe hardships as the prolonged operation has created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.

In another development, the administration under the New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor has attached immovable properties belonging to two more civilians in Srinagar district.

APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement in Srinagar, strongly condemned cordon and search operations, house raids, arrests, property seizures and other repressive measures targeting unarmed Kashmiris.

He said the BJP-led Indian government is using brutal tactics to silence the legitimate voices of freedom.

The APHC urged the United Nations to play its role in securing the release of illegally detained Kashmiris and facilitate the settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with its relevant resolutions.
