Analysts hail commitment of government to highlight the plight of Kashmiris at every forum
September 30, 2022

Waheed Ahmed (Former Ambassador):  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented the Kashmir issue quite effectively before the world at the recently held United Nations General Assembly session. The diplomats from other countries also agreed that this lingering issue between Pakistan and India has been creating tensions, and until it is resolved the peace and stability in the region is impossible. Our foreign office is in favor of talks to resolve this issue in a peaceful manner, but India on the other hand is not yet ready. Presently, the current Indian government does not seem interested in resolving the issue. Atrocities against the Muslims are increasing day by day in India but New Delhi government is looking toward the other side. Pakistan as always will continue to support Kashmiri people until their right of self-determination is achieved.

Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): The statement given by the Pakistan's Foreign Office reflects the true narrative of Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. Pakistan has always expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people. Pakistan will keep on raising its voice against the atrocities of Indian army and its government in the region, until their right of self-determination and freedom is achieved. Pakistan has been highlighting the Kashmir issue in front of the world and made it a matter of international interest. Pakistan and India can work together in diverse fields and can grow gradually through it. We have to work for the settlement of the Kashmir issue to achieve peace and stability in the region.
