Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Malki has urged that the truce between Israel and Hamas must become a ceasefire.

Addressing a UN Security Council session, he said this is not a war, this is a carnage that no one can justify and it must be brought to an end.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Israel for his third trip to discuss extending the temporary truce and other issues.

On the sixth day of an extended truce between Israel and Hamas, 10 Israeli captives and four Thai citizens have been released in Gaza following the earlier release of two Israelis with Russian citizenship.
