Hamas has conditionally agreed to a roadmap for disarmament in return for Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip at a meeting of the Gaza Board of Peace in Cairo, Egypt.

Announcing this in a social media post, US President Donald Trump, who chairs the Board, said the agreement is a step toward establishing a Palestinian government in Gaza.

A member of the Hamas delegation told Al Jazeera that implementation of the agreement would be conditioned on Israel abiding by its part of the deal.
