Provincial Disaster Management Authority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood alert for upper districts of the province from today till Friday.

According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PDMA, the prevailing hot weather conditions and intermittent rains have heightened the risk of glacial lake outbursts.

PDMA has advised the tourists to avoid unnecessary travel, camping and trekking in vulnerable areas.

The public can contact the Emergency Operations Centre through the toll-free helpline 1700 in case of an emergency.
