Philippine customs authorities have foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs from Afghanistan at the Manila International Container Port.

According to media reports, a joint operation by the Philippine Bureau of Customs and the Drug Enforcement Agency led to the seizure of forty-three kilograms of methamphetamine from two containers.  Philippine authorities said the seized drugs are estimated to be worth about five point one million dollars.
