Lord Nazir Ahmed, Kashmiri Politician
March 26, 2021

Former Member of the British House of Lords Nazir Ahmed has urged the Muslim world to forge unity in its ranks to have an integrated stand on lingering issues of Kashmir and Palestine.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel today, he said inimical forces are exploiting the divisions among the Muslim countries to make them vulnerable to outside pressures.

Referring to prevalent situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he said Indian reprehensible actions of 5th August 2019 are aimed at changing demography of Kashmir. He said due to severe lockdown after this illegal action, Kashmiri people have immensely been suffering.

Lord Nazir Ahmed urged the international humanitarian organizations to seek access to the besieged Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to gauge the situation first hand and report to the international community and the United Nations about the massive human rights violations of Kashmiri people by the occupation forces. He pointed out that their sufferings are compounded by the absence of phone and Internet services as well as shortage of medical supplies.

He also urged the international organizations to raise their voice for the immediate release of detained political Kashmiri leaders.

Lord Nazir said the RSS-sponsored fascist Modi regime is settling outsiders in Occupied Kashmir on the pattern of Israel that could lead to the ethnic cleansing of innocent Kashmiri people.

He said minorities in India, specifically Muslims and Sikhs, have been increasingly at risk since the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party government led by Narendra Modi came into power.

Nazir Ahmed said the recent reports of EU DisinfoLab have clearly exposed India's nefarious designs against Pakistan through the manipulation of Indian media. He said right wing fascists in BJP would never accept friendship between Pakistan and India, and resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN resolutions.

Appreciating the Pakistani government for taking a firm stance regarding Kashmir issue, Kashmiri leader said the dispute has been effectively highlighted in the world and now there is more international pressure on India to resolve it to promote peace in the region and the world at large.

Lord Nazir Ahmed said no political party in Pakistan would ever compromise on the issues of CPEC, nuclear program and Kashmir issue.

Talking about Palestine, he said the issue is yet to be resolved because Zionist lobby have strong influence on Western countries as well as the some OIC members.

Appreciating the role of Radio Pakistan for becoming the voice of Kashmiri people in this hour of trial, he said local and international media should play their due role in exposing Modi's Hindutva led RSS ideology to the world community.

He said Radio Pakistan’s social media is a great source of authentic news for the Kashmir diaspora across the globe.

Later, he also visited PBC social media section and interacted with editorial staff.
