Najam-ul-Saqib (Former Foreign Secretary): Since 1989 till now, terrorism, rape incidents, human rights violations, extra judicial killings and rape as weapons of war are being committed by Indian forces in IIOJK. The amnesty international, Asia watch and the United Nations have issued certain reports on Indian policies in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. After the illegal move of Indian government on 5th August, 2019, the situation in the valley has completely changed. India tried to subjugate a disputed territory by abrogating article 370 and 35-A. The Kashmiris have been facing Indian atrocities and waiting for a positive response from the world powers. However, the fact is that the policies of Narendra Modi has badly damaged the image of India as a secular state in the world. Iranian foreign minister has clearly urged the Indian government to respect human rights in the occupied valley and also offered to mediate between India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir dispute. Many other civilized countries have also condemned Indian human rights violations in the valley and urged for peaceful solution to Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
