World rights group, the Amnesty International has termed India's Citizenship Amendment Act, a clear violation of Indian Constitution and international human rights laws.

This was stated by the Group at a hearing on Ending Global Religious Persecution by US House of Representatives in Washington.                 

The group said the controversial citizenship law legitimises discrimination on the basis of religion. 

It also warned that India is becoming a dangerous place for peaceful protesters and remarks by ruling BJP against demonstrators are hateful.
