Like rest of the world, Christian community in Pakistan also celebrated Easter on Sunday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a tweet, wished all Christian citizens a happy Easter.
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri extended warm felicitations to the Christian Members of the Parliament and the Christian community on the auspicious occasion of Easter.
In their felicitation message, the Speaker said that Jesus Christ (A.S.) was ordained by Almighty Allah to preach love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood.
He reiterated that the rights and privileges enjoyed by all minorities in Pakistan will be fully safeguarded by the government according to the Constitution and guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam.
In his message, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, said Islam gives equal rights to the minorities and our Constitution grants minorities equal participation in all walks of life.
He urged the Christian community to serve all their energies in progress and prosperity of the country.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi felicitated members of the Christian community across the world, especially in Pakistan on the occasion of Easter.
In a statement on Sunday, he said sacrifices rendered by the Christian community for Pakistan are commendable.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said protection of the rights of minorities is among top priorities of the government.
Meanwhile in a tweet on Sunday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri also felicitated Christian community in Pakistan and across the world on the occasion of Easter.
