Pakistan, China agree to further strengthen security ties

Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing have agreed to further strengthen bilateral ties in the field of security.

The agreement came during a meeting between the Minister of State with the Chinese envoy who called on him in Islamabad.

Shehryar Khan Afridi said the government is providing foolproof security to the Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan.

He said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is a game-changer and will bring progress and prosperity in the region.

Minister of State for Interior urged other countries of the world to become part of CPEC.

He said police reforms, as introduced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would also be implemented in the federal capital.

The Chinese Ambassador congratulated the Minister of State on assuming his portfolio.
