Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has urged all political parties to refrain from politicizing the national institutions in the larger national interest.

Talking to media in Sialkot, she hoped that all political parties would support the government in passage of amendment in army act.

Answering a question about prevailing situation in Middle East, she said the government would protect the interests of Pakistan first.

She said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would give briefing in the Parliament about the priorities and policy of Pakistan over the Middle East issue.

Firdous Ashiq said no one should disturb peace in the region as it would also ultimately disturb the Afghan peace process.
