Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore's FMs discuss Covid-19 pandemic

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says international community will have to perform an effective role to save eight million Kashmiris from the Indian oppression.  

In a telephonic conversation with his Malaysian counterpart Hishammuddin Hussein on Wednesday, he said unarmed Kashmiris have been facing the worst curfew for eight months.

The Minister said now as the world is focused to deal with coronavirus pandemic, India is bent upon changing demography in occupied Kashmir by amending rules and regulations regarding domicile, which is violation of not only international laws but also against the UN resolutions.

The two foreign ministers also exchanged views regarding spread of coronavirus pandemic and the efforts being made to contain it.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi informed his Malaysian counterpart about Prime Minister Imran Khan's call for restructuring of loans of developing countries to enable them effectively deal with the pandemic.

Welcoming Prime Minister Imran Khan's call for restructuring of loans, the Malaysian Foreign Minister indicated to raise the matter with G-20 countries.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and discussed spread of coronavirus pandemic and the measures to contain it. 

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the steps taken by Singapore government to check spread of coronavirus are commendable.

He also informed his Singaporean counterpart about the efforts being made by Pakistan government to deal with this pandemic.

He said Pakistan is trying to benefit from Singapore's successful experience of launching mobile App "Trace Together" to contain spread of coronavirus.

The Foreign Minister apprised his Singaporean counterpart about Prime Minister Imran Khan's call for debt relief and restructuring to enable the developing countries to free up resources to combat the disease.

The two ministers agreed to stay closely engaged on all issues of common interest.
