World acknowledges Pakistan’s constructive role in Afghanistan
September 08, 2021

Lt Gen (Retd) Raza Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): People from different ethnic groups are the members of interim government announced by Afghan Taliban. It is the need of the hour that the civilized world, OIC and regional countries must conditionally recognize the interim government in Afghanistan. Afghan Taliban are reiterating the commitments time and again that Afghan soil will not be used against any country. Moreover, they will respect human rights and are committed to give the women their rights as well. So far, they are fulfilling their commitments. The prevention of a humanitarian crisis and economic meltdown in Afghanistan are key priorities in the wake of recent developments in the country. The world organizations must have to support the new government on humanitarian grounds. The fate of Afghanistan will depend on the policies of newly formed Afghan government.

Najam us Saqib (Former Ambassador): It is too early to say anything concrete about the future policies of Afghanistan. The Afghan Taliban have announced the cabinet members for the interim government and the entire is eyeing on the latest developments in Kabul. The HR organizations would definitely be looking at the situation of Afghan women under the new government. So far there are some security issues and also the intra Afghan issues that will be a big challenge for the Afghan government on how to deal with it. For the last 20 years, Pakistan had a clear stance on the Afghan situation that there is no military situation to the Afghan situation. Moreover, Pakistan always pleads for the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led and broad based Afghan government. Now the world has also acknowledged the narrative of Pakistan in this regard. The victory of Afghan Taliban can be termed as the victory of Afghan people as Afghanistan is free from foreign illegal occupation. China, Russia and other regional stakeholders are keeping a close on current developments in the war-torn country. The role of Pakistan being the neighbor of Afghanistan can never be ignored.

Dr. Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert) The world is terming the recent development in the region as a paradigm shift as far as the Afghanistan situation is concerned. The role of Pakistan as important regional stakeholders is being acknowledged by the world. Islamabad always worked for peace and prosperity in the region. Pakistan, at its end, is taking on board major regional stakeholders and developing mutual consensus in order to have long lasting peace in Kabul. In the past, Afghan soil was used by anti-Pakistan elements for creating instability in our country. The newly formed Afghan government has a number of challenges to deal with including internal threats, economic issues and developing strong relations with other countries. The international community must have to support Afghan people in order to prevent a humanitarian crisis and economic meltdown in Afghanistan. China is an economic power and could support the Afghan government to overcome economic issues.

Dr. Salman Shah (Advisor to Punjab Government): It is for the first time that we are going through the process of digitization of all available lands in the country. Through digitalization, the government will be able to replace the error and corruption-prone manual land recordkeeping. This will benefit individuals for easy and affordable access to their land record and  transparency and accountability in land management. Records of land rights and Field Map will be scanned and digitized. This project will be as big as NARDRA as we will have immense data available for development under this project. The new system would also help identify the illicit hinging of state land, encroachment at nullah and forests.
