Gilgit Baltistan Education Minister Raja Muhammad Azam Khan says Single National Curriculum is being implemented in Gilgit Baltistan in phases.
This he stated in an interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs channel in Islamabad on Friday, he said implementation of uniform curriculum is part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf's manifesto.
Raja Muhammad Azam Khan said due to the prudent policies of GB government the ratio of out of school children is less than it is in rest of country.
He said that GB Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid has announced incentives, including provision of 1500 rupees for girls and 1000 for Boys as traveling expenses to enhance students' enrollment in schools.
The Minister said Gilgit Baltistan government is taking bold steps for quality and affordable education in the area. He said STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics).
Education System is being included in the pilot project launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has promised establishment of two medical college one each in Baltistan and Gilgit region next year.
Responding a question, Raja Azam Khan said the Gilgit-Baltistan government is also working on digitization of educational institutions allocating special budget in Annual Development Programme.
He said solar system is also being provided to educational institutions to ensure smooth functioning of E-learning.
Raja Azam Khan appreciated the role of national broadcaster in creating awareness about the importance of education in the country.
