PR started 24 new trains to provide better travelling facilities to passengers, Senate Informed

Senate was informed today that Pakistan Railways started 24 new trains over the last one and a half year to provide better travelling facilities to the passengers.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati told the House during Question Hour that launch of new trains also resulted in additional revenue of over four billion rupees during last fiscal year.

The Minister said introduction of Trains Tracking System and EFI locomotives has contributed in reducing the fuel consumption by two million litters.

Azam Khan Swati told the House a master plan for Islamabad is being formulated to build modern infrastructure as per the requirement of residents of the capital.

He said this includes the laying down of new sewerage lines. He said laws are being framed to ensure easy access of disabled persons to buildings.

Meanwhile, Senate also passed today Federal Government Employees Housing Authority Bill, 2019.

It was moved by Minister for Housing and Works Chaudhary Tariq Bashir Cheema.

The House will now meet on Monday at three pm.
