Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar has ordered the concerned NAB court to complete the hearing process and decide all three references against former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, in four weeks.
Hearing an application filed by NAB Court at Lahore Registry of Supreme Court today, the Chief Justice rejected the plea by Nawaz Sharif's lawyer Khawaja Haaris to complete the trial in six weeks instead.
He said these cases should be decided now without any further delay and directed the NAB court to hear the references even on Saturdays, if needed.
He said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz can go to London for inquiring Begum Kalsoom Nawaz's health, after filing application.
Meanwhile, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar heard the appeal against the acquittal by Lahore High Court, of Shah Hussain, who was accused of attacking and severely injuring a young girl, Khadija Siddiqui.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice expressed anger over the passage of a resolution by Lahore High Court Bar Association against the Suo Moto action taken by the Supreme Court in this case.
Apex court decided to transfer the appeal against Lahore High Court’s order acquitting Shah Hussain, convicted by the trial court in Khadija stabbing case to a bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
