President Arif Alvi has said the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain is a triumph of humanity and Islamic principles.
In his message on the occasion of Ashur, he said Youm-e-Ashur has a significant place in the Islamic history as on this day the grandson of holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Hazrat Imam Hussain along with his family members and companions embraced martyrdom, thus making the tragic event unforgetable till the day of judgment.
The President said that this great sacrifice reminds the Muslims every year that they should not be hesitant from sacrificing their lives in the face of forces of evil and vice.
He stressed upon the people to reiterate the resolve that their every act will be in accordance with the teachings of Imam Hussain and aimed at upholding the Islamic traditions and progress and prosperity of the country.
He said we should also express the resolve to fight against extremism, terrorism and intolerant behaviours.
He also prayed for the progress and prosperity of the country and complete adoption of the real message of Youm-e-Ashur.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the great battle between the good and evil at Karbala gives a message to the Muslims that they should be ready to offer any sacrifice for the promotion of high values and principles of Islam.
In his message on Youm-e-Ashur, the Prime Minister said this day revives the unprecedented and supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
Imran Khan said the life of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) gives a message that all the ordeals in the path of righteousness should be tolerated in a broad manner and even one should be ready to lay down one’s life to the satisfaction of the Creator. He said laden with such passion, one could make significant achievement in the world and for the motherland.
Imran Khan on the occasion also paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiri people who had been struggling against the Indian imperialism in the Occupied Kashmir. He said the Kashmiri people have kept alive the Sunnah of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and made the Occupied Kashmir another great example of battle between the good and evil.
